Nancy and her team from Room 2 Breathe are absolutely awesome! I had such a mess in my bedroom, toiletries, closets, guest rooms, wrapping area, basement storeroom, kitchen – you name it, I HAD it, sadly. Sadly because I know how to do this myself, but I wasn’t doing it. My mother made me hire Nancy and her team (I am in my mid-50’s, but I couldn’t see the forest for the trees, but my mom knew what had to be done and she made me hire Nancy, like mom’s do). I used to be very organized, but years of life with many blessings and heartaches rendered me really, almost a hoarder and seriously unorganized, which is stressful on the entire family. We love entertaining and clothes and preserving the past and we were buried. I wasn’t a good steward of making decisive decisions along the way. I still have work to do on some things, especially paperwork which Nancy started and she is very purposeful about the proper way to sort and shred or toss. Nancy and her team were so kind and thoughtful about how they processed going through everything with me. Don’t get me wrong, it was really HARD work. I had to make a lot of decisions and my daughter and husband, too (which neither has done yet…) Nancy and her team were very patient, but kindly firm with me. You get a “donate” pile, a “keep” pile and a “maybe” pile and a “trash” pile – yes, you have trash in your home. I cannot believe how much we donated to so many other people who could have some really nice things that I just wasn’t using, but loved and thought I could never get rid of, but when someone who is not attached to your items or who has a new perspective in your personal space it is amazing what may happen! Nancy is also very knowledgeable about how to up cycle your donations and where to appropriately donate them so they are not wasted (ex. I could have opened a gift wrapping store with all the wrapping items I have saved over the years which were perfectly fine and I didn’t want to throw away and she found places to take them and use them, score for everyone!) I still have more work to do and Nancy and her team will be coming back to help me for the trees I have left, but I am in such a better place than I was before. I can see the forest and it is beautiful!
